Department of Social Work — Objectives

 Department Objectives

• To educate students on the importance of Social Work, and the role of a social worker in various settings of importance to society.
• To make students inculcate a strong interest in serving the needy population on completion of training.
• To provide knowledge of the causes of psychiatric problems, methods of intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
• To bring about an understanding of the welfare of the family, women, children, youth, aged, and the disabled.
• To equip students with appropriate skills to become medical social workers, psychiatric social workers, counsellors, human resource managers, social welfare administrators, and community organizers.
