History

 The PG Department of Computer Applications in Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli 620 002, was started in the year 1998 with BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications). Growing metamorphically in a short span of time, MCA (Master of Computer Applications) was started in the year 1999 and was approved by AICTE. Catering to the requirements, PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) was started in the year 2002..

The Department strives to inculcate a sound knowledge in Computer Applications along with realized Social, Ethical responsibilities to enable the Students to combat the current and impending challenges faced by the Country and extend their expertise to the Global arena.

The Department provides various opportunities to explore and exploit new avenues in the emerging world of Information Technology. The Department employs various ICT methods for Teaching.

The Students are facilitated with well established exquisite Lab facilities. The Syllabi are revised and restructured according to the emerging demands.

The Students are exposed to the needs of the Industry through Industrial Visit. The Students develop Software in the form of minor, major Projects for various reputed Companies. The Students have several Patents to their Credit. The Departmental Magazine Com’fete is released yearly by the Students. The Students are fashioned into technically qualified human resources to carry out Technical activities of the College. The Students are enriched through Industrial Visits, Workshops, Seminars, Association Meetings, Inter-Departmental, Intra-Departmental and Inter Collegiate Competitions.
